"Social Media-Savvy City in the World" Cincinnati's Latest Honor

by The Cincinnati Team

Cincinnati named Most "Social Media-Savvy City in the World" has named Cincinnati as the Most "Social Media-Savvy City in the World."  This website is know for their social media, technology and digital news.  The contest was designed to draw attention to Social Media Day.

Thanks to the video submitted by Blair Ward, the committee was made aware of numerous methods social media is used by people in the city.  Some of the more famous celebrities sites were used, including Chad Ochocinco and Brandon Phillips.  The video shows examples of Twitter feeds, Facebook sites and fun entertainment and night life uses for social media.

The video also mentioned an appropriately named, location-based site unique to Cincinnati, called Porkappolis.  Have fun with that!

Greenarama Homes Open in Columbia Tusculum

by The Cincinnati Team

Green is "IN"                                                                    Being Green in Cincinnati magazine

Greenarama in Columbia Tusculum just finished with seven single family homes in the $400,000's.  They all featured many green details and are LEED certified.  Many of them had solar panels, extra insulation in the walls and geo-thermal furnaces.  Should be lots of money saved on energy bills, in addition to saving the environment.

Also, the Being Green in Cincinnati magazine just announced its top 10 "Green Giants," Cincinnati's forward thinkers who are doing a lot to go green.  Those named include Duke Energy, P&G, Cincinnati Public Schools, Metro, PNC Bank, Turner Construction, GE, Christ Hospital, Rumpke and the Cincinnati Parks.

If you haven't seen and read this magazine, it is worth a look.  We found the stories about houses around the city very interesting.  You'll get lots of ideas for ways you can help the green movement and save yourself some money.
