The blight of the properties victim to vacancy and abandonment over the last few years is being addressed by a new program sponsored by Keep Cincinnati Beautiful. The program recently received the Ohio Non-profit Excellence Award for the Southern Region.Keep Cincinnati Beautiful - Future Blooms

Future Blooms is a low-cost program that resurfaces the fronts of vacant properties by painting representations of doors, windows, awnings and flower boxes on them.  Look at the difference it makes!

The goal of the program is to reduce crime and general unsightliness associated with the lack of maintenance, both of which deter prospective investors from neglected areas.  Economic development is what these neighborhoods need.

Funding was originally received from the Empowerment Corporation as part of recommendations of the Cincinnati Neighborhood Enhancement Program.  Currently, financial support is coming from the City of Cincinnati, the Greater Cincinnati Foundation, Fifth Third and UPS.
