This Old House Magazine has honored College Hill as the “Best Old House Neighborhood” in the Midwest.  In evaluating neighborhoods for the article, the magazine was searching for tight-knit neighborhoods with architectural diversity, craftsmanship of the homes, preservation momentum in the area and neighborhood amenities such as walkability, safety and community.

Why did they choose College Hill?  Settled way back in 1813, there is a rich diversity of housing types.  Many are the craftsman style bungalows with a rich selection of Tudor Revivals.  Friendly, front and side porches abound.  Many of these homes deserve a long term commitment.  The tranquility of the tree-line streets and the access to downtown were some of the things that attracted This Old House Magazine.

You can currently find homes on the market from $20,000 up.  In the past year, there have been 172 sales for an average of $70,344.  Currently there are 88 listings on the market, almost exactly 6 months of inventory…what the National Association of Realtors considers a healthy market.
