Cincinnati Museum Centers' Culture Gallery will display Paul Briol's photos from October 1, 2012 - January 6, 2013. As part of FOTOFOCUS Cincinnati, an historical and aesthetical record of Cincinnati.  The photo below of downtown from Union Terminal is one of my favorites.

Briol is recognized for documenting the life and architecture of 20th century Cincinnati.  His prints were known for their detail, mastery of light and shadow and sense of composition.

Paul Briol came to Cincinnati in 1909.  He worked as a journalist, operated a photographic studio and owned a bookstore here until 1955, when he went to New York City.  We have to be grateful for his photographic legacy.
