Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County Again Busiest Central Library in US

Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton CountyAccording to the Public Library Data Service report published by the Public Library Association, the Main Library in downtown Cincinnati was ranked the busiest central library in the United States for the second year in a row.  They loaned 6.6 million materials in 2012, accounting for 38% of the materials loaned by the entire system.  

The entire system ranked seventh busiest in the US and second busiest in Ohio.  The 41 branches loaned out more than 17 million materials.  Additionally, the system has the highest number of items circulating per capita among libraries serving a population of 800,000 or more...nearly 22 items were loaned to every person in Hamilton County.
