Such a wonderful evening...just what you envision for Fall football.  It all started at Mechlenburg Gardens known for the German atmosphere and their famous Chicken Pesto sandwiches. Add to that a liter of beer. Perfect! Mechlenburg's has been a neighborhood tradition since 1865.  Now on the National Registar for Historic Places, it was a beautiful night to sit in the beer garden under the grape covered arbor.

Next the van delivered us to the doorstep of Nippert Stadium.  The crowds streamed in...in fact it was a sellout.  since it was Band Day, the Bearcat Band was joined by local high school bands from all over the region.   It filled the field with sound and marchers.

Next, the Navy flew in with the largest flag ever landing at the center mark on the field.  After the singing of the Star Spangled Banner, we were treated to a fly over with military fighter jets.

As if this wasn't exciting enough, the score was UC-70, Southeast Missouri State-3.  The AP Poll has ranked the team in position #17 and the Coaches Poll ranked them #21.  We're in for some great football, Brian Kelly style!

If you are planning to go to a University of Cincinnati Football game this year...get your tickets now.  It promises to be inspiring football.  The stadium rocks with the excitement.
